A powerful voice in a child's life.
CASAs are trained volunteers that are appointed by a judge to aid abused and neglected children in court. Rapides CASA (Alexandria) is dedicated to the recruitment, screening and training of quality community volunteers for children in all courts in Rapides Parish, advocated that each child be placed in a safe, permanent home.
CASAs play an important role in an abused or neglected child's life. They conduct an investigation of the case and submit a report to the court about the needs of the child and possible placement. In essence, a CASA becomes the "eyes and ears" of the court and makes objective recommendations concerning the best interest of the child.
